The Battle of the Brush sponsored by the Juliard Arts Center
took place Friday night May 3rd with area high school and middle
schools competing at the Timken Campus Commons.
Teams were made of six students who showed up at the event and after
given a prompt, had 2 ½ hours to create a collaborative piece of art. This year’s theme was “What if?” Students from Edison Middle School including
Maria Jones, Laina Green, Selena Juarez, Ryan Turner, Maguire Tausch and Grace
DiGiulio created a triptych based on the theme of “what if your dreams came
true?” Edison’s team took first place in
the competition and each member received a $25.00 gift card to Pat Catans.
Hello Robyn,
ReplyDeleteI'm a K-8th Visual Arts Teacher in Denver, CO. and I just came across your Sixth grade silhouettes. I'm beyond intrigued and have decided to attempt making these with my 7/8th grade students this coming Monday. I would like to know if you have a lesson plan guide to follow? I don't know where to begin.
Thank you,
Maria D. Tuschall
