After a week long Spring Break, I thought I would post some of these enlarged oil pastel flowers done by Mrs. Self's students in her Art 2 class. Here are some as they are wrapping up and as they are in progress.

I love these tempera resists created by our Art II students, but I hate that I can't get them to realign the correct direction on our blog. For some reason, I can't get these pictures to flip. Anyhow-- this intense process is well worth the wait when students combine three layers of tempera, india ink and water to get these awesome results!

Art 2 is an exciting course for our middle school students to complete a high school level class and gain credit, at the middle school level. First they must complete Art 1 as a prerequisite. Currently, they are being taught by Mrs. Self and creating these awesome clay tea pots. Students have been challenged to create either a functioning or aesthetically pleasing pot and if time allows, some tea cups to coincide. I love watching their work in progress!
Art 2 will be taught by Mrs. Self during the spring semester. Stay tuned...
